Camp Morrison Highlights

Morning and Afternoon Merit Badge Classes

3 hours in morning, 3 hours in afternoon

Opportunity to earn 6+ merit badges

Fishing Outpost Program (morning)

All Scouts & Adult Leaders can participate

3 hours of fishing each morning

For “Fun”program, no merit badge earned

No fishing license necessary

Need to bring your own equipment

Rock ON! Challenge (afternoon)

All Scouts 13 or older & Adult Leaders can participate

3 hours of climbing & rappelling each afternoon

Requires additional fee of $50 per Scout/Adult

Welding (morning or afternoon)

All Scouts 14 or older can participate

Requires additional fee of $40 per Scout

Small class size

Shotgun Shooting (morning or afternoon)

Scouts 13 or older can participate

1 ½ hours of instruction & shooting per day

Requires additional fee of $40 (50 shells and pigeons)

Swim Instruction (morning or afternoon)

1 ½ hours of instruction per day (i.e. – swim lessons)

Will learn the necessary skills to pass the swim test

Dining Hall

Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner served in dining hall

Reduces time spent cooking/cleaning , more time for activities

Our Troop will be assigned meals to help with KP duty.

Bears!

Bear safety will be top priority

All smellables need will remain in bear box.

31 merit badges & 5 classes are offered

Scouts can select which merit badges/classes they want to take with the following exception:

1st year campers will take “Trail to 1st Class” and “First Aid”. Personal choice for remaining 2 hours.

  • 6:45am wake up

  • 9:00-11:50am Morning Merit Badge Classes
  • 12:00-12:50pm Lunch
  • 1:00-3:50pm Afternoon Merit Badge Classes
  • 4:00-5:15pm Free time/Troop activities
  • 5:45pm Flag ceremony
  • 6:00-6:50pm Dinner
  • 7:00-9:00pm Campfires/Additional Merit Badge Classes/Free time
  • Chess, Geology, Cat-Eye Trail, Star Gazing
  • 10:30 Lights out

Camp Preparation Timeline

Monday June 3rd:

   1st camp payment due.  50% minimum

 

Monday June 24th:

   Scout/Adult physicals are due.

 

Monday July 1st:

   Final camp payment due.  Balance of total

 

Monday July 8th:

   Uniform Inspection & Camp Discussion:  Scouts need to wear their full Class A uniforms.  Any missing badges, patches, attachments, etc. will be identified.  Mrs. Manspeaker will be available with her sewing machine to make any adjustments needed.

 

Monday July 15th:

    Bag Drag and Prep Trailer for Camp.  Mrs. Manspeaker will again be avilable for any sewing needed.

 

Travel Itinerary

Sunday July 21st:

  • Arrive at Washington Heights Church by 7:30am. Please be on time!
  • Wear your full Class A uniform including your Troop 146 hat
  • Troop Assemble will be called at 7:50am and will depart at 8:00am.
  • We will be stopping in Boise, ID for lunch.  Please bring money to purchase lunch.
  • We will be arriving at Camp Morrison approximately 4:00pm.
  • Please eat a good breakfast before leaving.  We will be stopping for lunch around 12:30.

Saturday July 27th:

  • We will depart Camp Morrison at approximately 10:00am.
  • We will be stopping in Boise, ID around 12:30pm for lunch.  Please bring money to purchase lunch.
  • An email will be sent to all parents when we leave Boise.
  • We anticipate returning to Washington Heights around 6:00pm.

Cost

Scouts:  

$375 per Scout.  Includes transportation, camp fee and all meals for the week. 

 

Adults:  

$140 per Adult.  Includes transportation, camp fees and all meals for the week.

 

Additional expenses: 

  • Rock On! Activity Fee: $50 Due at registration, otherwise price increases
  • Merit Badges — $2.00 – $40 depending on merit badge
